##FULL## Riverboat tour - 2 week option FRANCE: France

In joining the Riverboat 2-week option, you will be part of a two week test phase sailing through France. We want to reach the communities living alongside the Rhine and challenge local Christians to reach out to the least reached in their own community.

During this two week phase, along with the crew of the vessel, you will reach out to people with the message of Christ. During this time you will work alongside various local churches and an international team in a united outreach effort.

Ministry Details

On board the vessel we will have a number of features—
GLOBAL VILLAGE & ESCAPE ROOMS: These are interactive simulations alerting Christians of the needs in the world and challenging them to respond. We will need a sizeable number of people to be involved as actors in this simulation for part of their time on board.
SHOP/CAFETERIA: We will also run a retail outlet on board serving food and other items and will need people to run this facility and engage with the locals as they come on board.
SHIP UPKEEP AND MAINTENANCE: We will also need technical people to help with vessel maintenance, cleaning, food preparation and other tasks.
OUTREACH: We will also be active in the streets of Strasbourg, to draw people to this event, but more importantly to draw them to God!

You will be assigned to a team according to your abilities or the needs at the time. There will be a "boat" team, involved with registration, welcome, café, briefing/debriefing, acting, and a "town" team, with a focus on inviting and evangelism.

Participant Profile

The first requirement is flexibility! Since this is a pioneer phase, many of the finer details remain unplanned. You will need to be ready to serve with all your heart and a humble attitude.
“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave”

Participants will need to have a good standard of English in order to take part in this outreach. French is desirable.

We hope some people in the team will have acting talent, to be part of the interactive simulations.

We are also looking for people who enjoy engaging with others, in the streets or as part of the café team.

We anticipate at this stage that accommodation will be in local host churches or in homes of church members. More information will be given nearer the time on what you need to bring.

Breakfast/lunch/supper will either be served on board, or at the hosting churches.

Participants need to arrange travel to Strasbourg. We will provide details late 2017 of the arrival airport/train station. Participants will be met on arrival at the airport/train station. If possible, you should bring an International driving permit in case you need to drive a vehicle during the two weeks

Participants need to be in good health. Special diets will need to be communicated at the time of application.

All EU nationals can live and work on board with no restrictions. If you are from a non-EU country, but do not need a Schengen visa, then you will be permitted to enter the Schengen area for the duration of your time on the vessel. If you require further time in Europe, you will need to contact the embassy of the country you wish to visit for an extension. If you require a visa to enter the EU or EEA, we can provide you with an invitation letter.

There is a 25% reduction of fees for all participants who live in the Bas-Rhin region !
