Immersion Team Member: Ireland

Immersion is 11-months of life fully involved in God’s word, Gospel centred ministry, and cross-cultural missions. Initially, you and the team will participate in lecture-style training on biblical topics and practical skills. The remainder of the year is spent serving alongside a local ministry where your training will be applied daily. Interested? Keep reading!

  • Start Date: Fri 01 Sep 2017
  • Commitment Length: 1-2 years (Full Time)

If you’re interested in taking a year abroad, are looking for a college placement, or feel a career break might be needed in the near future, then Immersion should rank highly on your possibilities list!

Immersion in an 11-month programme designed for any young person who wants biblical training and full-time ministry experience. The first couple of months in Ireland are based at the OM headquarters, Lacken House, where Immersion participants study topics including evangelism, hermeneutics, and apologetics. As they grow in their knowledge and beliefs, they also learn practical ministry skills such as creative arts; and life skills like stewardship and time management.

After training, the remaining nine months of Immersion are spent at a ministry placement with partner churches located throughout Ireland. Smaller teams of Immersion students will share close community as they live together and serve the church in many different ways.

At the conclusion of the year, Immersion participants have the opportunity to lead a team of short-termers serving during Impact Ireland. Before returning home, Immersion team members will have grown in their walk with Jesus, ability to serve, and have a greater understanding of ministry life. All OM staff secure their own funding by private donations.

Participants need to:

  • Have a love for Jesus and a desire to share your faith
  • Have a God-given sense of “call” to serve abroad
  • Be flexible and have willingness to work as a team
  • Be between 18-30 years old—GAP students welcome!
  • Have at least conversational English language ability
  • Fulfill and abide by OM Ireland child protection requirements (much work will be youth and child focused)

The next team begins this September, will you join us?

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
