Big Red Bus Team Member: Ireland

The Big Red Bus (BRB) is OM Ireland's most recognised ministry that’s touched lives for over a decade. Our double-decker bus travels all over the country providing a range of activities from kids clubs for children to tea and coffee for adults. Local churches and communities partner with the bus to provide fun interactive learning through drama, games, Bible stories, puppets, illusions, arts and crafts, and more!

As a BRB Team member at OM Ireland, you can expect to:
1. Prepare and contribute to various programmes:
    - Creative puppet shows
    - Special bus tours
    - Youth drop-ins
    - Street evangelism
2. Organise, record, and update stock (crafts, books, etc.)
3. Participate in outreaches such as:
    - 2-3 weekends/mo. of street evangelism
    - St. Patrick’s
    - Easter programme
    - June schools tours
    - Impact Ireland
    - Kids clubs
    - Halloween
4. Help other departments during slow seasons.

Requirements of potential BRB Team Member:

  • Preferable for applicant to join in January
  • Friendly and a people-person
  • Able to work in a team
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Willing to travel throughout Ireland
  • Conversational English (verbal and written)
  • An attitude of perseverance
  • Open to flexible diet, accommodation, and working hours
  • Able to work in small, confined spaces
  • Comfortable around children
  • Servant’s heart
  • Organised and punctual

Other things to know:
1. You need to be willing to learn the following as they are standard aspects of the BRB ministry:
    - Balloon modelling
    - Children’s songs and dances
    - Crafts
    - Face painting
    - Group games
    - Preparing tea and coffee
    - Puppetry
2. Puppet shows on the BRB require stamina and strength as you will be in a close space, on knees for extended periods of time, while holding arms up.
3. Interns are welcome but are limited to one (1) during the autumn/winter and two (2) during spring/summer seasons.
4. All OM staff secure their own funding by private donations.

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
